Mrs. Chatman, Osage, Is Dead
Succumbs Following Illness of Two Months; Three Children Survive

Osage, April 18. -- -- Mr. Alfred Chatman, 71, died at 9 o’clock Thursday morning at her home from complications following erysipelas. She was ill two months.
Surviving are three children, Frank C., local grocer; Benjamin, in the implement business here; and Gladys, a teacher in central High of Duluth; and one sister; Sylvia C. Colton of Orchard. A brother, Dick near Orchard, died a month ago and another sister died a year ago.

Mrs. Chatman Funeral to Be Held Saturday at Residence in Osage

Osage, April 19. – Mrs. Alfred Chatman who died Thursday morning will be buried Saturday. She was born at Bethany, Mo., 71 years ago and spent most of her life on a farm near Orchard. Prior to her marriage she taught in several rural schools I that vicinity. About 25 years ago her husband who was engaged in farming and real estate business retired and they purchased a home in Osage.

Mrs. Chatman taught a Bible class in the Congregational church school, and had been active in the Eastern Star chapter and the Shakespearean club.

She is survived by her husband, two sons, Frank, a local grocer, and Benjamin, in the implement business here, a daughter, Gladys, science teacher in Central high school at Duluth, Minn., two grandsons and one sister, Sylvia Colton or Orchard. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at her home.
