Isyle Winters

Funeral services were held Friday, June 3, 1988 at Little Cedar Methodist Church for Isyle Winters, 74, formerly of Little Cedar. The Reverend John Gilbert and Reverend Gilbert Visser officiated, and burial was in Little Cedar Cemetery. She died at Faith Lutheran Home, Osage, of natural causes on Tuesday, May 31, 1988,

Mrs. Winters was born January 20, 1914 in Mahaska County, Iowa, to Fred and Nellie (Worthy) Visser. She graduated from Bussey High School in 1931 and attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, where she received her teachers certificate. She taught in Mahaska County schools.

She later returned to school and graduated from William Penn College, Oskaloosa, in 1938 and then taught school at Bussey Consolidated Schools for eight years.

On June 23, 1946, she married Lloyd Winters at Union Liberty County Church, rural Bussey. They farmed near Little Cedar until she entered the nursing home in 1987.

Mrs. Winters was past district officer of United Methodist Women and a member of Little Cedar Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd in 1983; her parents; and one brother, Reanus.

Survivors include two sons, Craig of Little Cedar and Alyn of Buffalo, Minnesota; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Iola Smith of San Marcos, California; and one brother, Harold Visser of Oskaloosa.
