Mr. Volney Strunk, 1850-1918

Volney Strunk was born in Ohio March 10, 1850. At an early age he came west with his parents and settled near Osage [Iowa] in the settlement, at that time, known as "Brush's mill," near which locality his life has nearly all been spent.

He was married June 13, 1876 to Nellie Lunt, who preceded him in death some years ago. He died May 15, 1918 at the age of 68 years, 2 months and 5 days. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Towne of Osage and a sister Mrs. Kate Paulson of Newell, South Dakota.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of Ralph Towne on Friday at 2:30 pm by Rev. W.C. Cleworth.

Interment was in the Osage Cemetery.
