Osage: Funeral rites are tentatively set for Monday afternoon at the Champion funeral home for Samuel E. Wamsley, 83, who died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harvey Warrington, having been in ill health for some time.

His youngest daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Fielding, R. N. Santa Monica, Cal., has cared for him the last two weeks. Burial in Osage Cemetery.

Born February 2, 1864, to Vincent and Nancy (Watkins) Wamsley, near Moulton, Ia. He there grew to manhood, marrying Matilda Zook, September 10, 1893. they made their home in southern Iowa, then North Dakota coming to Osage 10 years ago during illness of wife, who died in 1938. He has been cared for by his daughters here the last few years.

He leaves nine daughters, Mrs. C. E. Leeper, Downing, Mo.; Mrs. C. E. Thompson, Drakesville, Ia.; Mrs. Frank Alton, Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. M. B. Morrison, Rudd; Mrs. Harvey Warrington, Osage; Mrs. H. E. Patton, Waden, Minn.; Mrs. Charles Squires, Staples, Minn.; Mrs. Glen Dodge, Orchard, and Mrs. Dorothy Fielding, Santa Monica, Cal; one son; Vincent, Steele, N. D.; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, was only child of mother; half-sisters having preceded in death.
