Merle A. Madison, 65, formerly of Osage and Mason City died Thursday in the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mr. Madison was born in Osage, October 16, 1894, son of Willis A. and Georgiana (Smalley) Madison. He lived in Osage until 1913 when he moved to Mason City and lived hee until 1927, when he moved to Oklahoma.

He was a bricklayer by trade. He was in England three years during World War I. September 3, 1929, he was married to Grace Landen at Oklahoma City.

Surviving are his wife, three sistes, Mrs. Charles (Mayme) Jeffries, Osage; Mrs. J. E. (Trulye) Faktor, Pepin, Wis., and Mrs. Newell (Meta) Hugi, Mason City, and a brother David H. Madison, Galesburg, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Military services and burial will be in the Osage cemetery.
