Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, 2001 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage for Helen M. Hemann, age 69, of Osage. Rev. Philip Recker officiated and interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage. She died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage.

Helen was born March 28, 1932 in Stacyville the daughter of Tony and Julia (Georgen) Heimer. Helen was educated at the Catholic School in Johnsburg, Minnesota and graduated from Visitation Catholic High School in Stacyville in 1949. She was united in marriage to Harold (Harry) Hemann on October 6, 1951 at St. John's Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minnesota. They lived all their married life in the Stacyville and Osage areas.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild.

Helen served on the Sacred Heart School Board and was an extra Ordinary Minister for the Home Bound of the Sacred Heart Parish and a member of the Catholic Aide Association. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Osage.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Bill Heimer and Clem Heimer; an infant sister, Agnes Heimer; and one grandson Kevin Smith.

Those that survive her include her husband, Harold of Osage; seven sons, Duane Hemann and wife, Janet of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Dave Hemann and wife, Terry of Osage; Doug Hemann and wife, Robin of Stewartville, Minnesota; Tony Hemann and wife, Jill of Edgewood, Iowa; Glen Hemann and wife, Cindy of Pine Island, Minnesota; Dwight Hemann of Covington, Tennessee; Jim Hemann and wife, Shelly of Osage; 14 grandchildren, Chris Hemann and wife, Amber of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Nathan Hemann and wife, Ann of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Amanda and Brittany Hemann of Osage; Andrea Forbes and husband, Joe of Coralville; Josh Hemann of Stewartville, Minnesota; Bruce Hemann and Spencer Smith of Edgewood, Iowa; Blake Hemann of the U.S. Marine Corp, San Diego, CA; Amy and Beth Hemann of Pine Island, Minnesota; and Tyler, Ashley and Chelsey Hemann of Osage; one great-grandchild, Allyson Forbes of Coralville, IA; four brothers, Robert Heimer and wife, Agnes of Osage, Melvin Heimer and wife, Shirley of Stacyville, Herbert Heimer and wife, Jeanette of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Dennis Heimer and wife, Karen of Mazeppa, Minnesota; two sisters, Betty Walsh and husband, Roger of Austin, Minnesota and Mary Thome and husband, Ben of Adams, Minnesota; one sister-in-law Hazel Heimer of Stacyville.

OSAGE, IOWA - Helen M. Hemann, 69, of Osage, died Wednesday (July 4, 2001) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

She was born March 28, 1932, in Stacyville, the daughter of Tony and Julia (Goergen) Heimer. Helen was educated at the Catholic School in Johnsburg, Minn., and graduated from Visitation Catholic High School in Stacyville in 1949.

She was united in marriage to Harold "Harry" Hemann on Oct. 6, 1951, at St. John's Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Minn. They lived all their married life in the Stacyville and Osage areas.

Helen was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild in Osage. She also served on the Sacred Heart School Board, was an Extra Ordinary Minister for the Home Bound of the Sacred Heart Parish, and a member of the Catholic Aide Association. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Osage.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a 3:30 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Scripture service.

HELEN HEIMER TO
BE INTERVIEWED
FOR SCHOLARSHIP

Helen Heimer, daughter of Anton Heimer of Stacyville has been selected by the Farm Bureau as one of four scholarship applicants from this district, to make a personal application in Des Moines next Thursday, May 5. Two of the four girls will be selected to receive a two-year scholarship in a teacher's college provided by the Farm Bureau women of Iowa.

Miss Heimer, a senior in Visitation school in Stacyville, is one of nine children in a farm family. She ranks in the upper one-third of her class of 21. . . .
