OSAGE, IOWA - Clarice Hein, 88, of Osage, died Thursday (June 7, 2001) at the Faith Lutheran Church in Osage. She was born Feb. 8, 1913 on the family farm in Union Township, Worth County, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Schoger) Paulson. She attended rural school in Worth County and graduated from Osage High School in 1931.
Clarice was united in marriage to Edwin Hein, of New Haven, on Aug. 17, 1935. Clarice was baptized, confirmed and married by the Rev. O.C. Myre at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in rural Osage.
They lived on a farm near New Haven until 1942, when they purchased and moved to a farm in Burr Oak Township. They lived there until 1980 when they retired and moved to their new home in Osage.
Clarice was employed at the Faith Lutheran Home for 15 years and continued to do volunteer work there for another 15 years.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Elizabeth Circle and held office in the Circle. Clarice served as secretary to local W.M.F. and also served on the Conference Board. She was a member of Faith Home Auxiliary.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m. There will be further visitation one hour before services at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin, of Osage; one daughter, Carol Dill and her husband, Gordon, of Salinas, Calif.; three sons, Russell Hein and his wife, Glorida, of Little Cedar, Bob Hein and his wife, Ann, of Winfield, Ill., and Allan Hein and his wife, Janis, of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, for Clarice Hein, age 88, of Osage. Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott will officiate. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.
