Mrs. Rogers, 78, Osage, Dies;
Rites TuesdayOSAGE, IOWA — Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Osage, for Mrs. Bertha Rogers, 78, who died Saturday at the Dubuque Hospital. Death resulted from diabetic complications. She had been hospitalized for the past 10 days. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Born in July, 1878, as Bertha Wyanam at Sauk City, Wis., Mrs. Rogers came to near Osage when a young girl, and the family moved to a farm east of Osage.
In 1895 she was married to William R. Rogers and the couple lived near Osage until her husband's death in 1939. She has since lived in Osage with intermittent stays in California and Milwaukee.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Cy Martin, McIntire; and Miss Alda Rogers, Milwaukee, three sons, Oswald, Orchard, Paul, Waterloo, and William of Minneapolis, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
