OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Oscar Horgen, 71, a former Osage resident, who died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Shakopee, Minnesota, will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Champion Funeral Home; burial in Osage Cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, Clarence Horgen of Appleton, Wis., and Ingval Horgen of Petersburg, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Amanda Lincke of Charles City.

Oscar Horgen was born November 14, 1902 at West Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa to Gulbrand Gunerius Halvorsen Horgen and Ingeborg Petersdatter, the ninth of their ten children.

1910: Gilbert H Horgan 51, Isabelle P Horgan 50, Melvin B Horgan 23, Edwin R Horgan 20, Cora G Horgan 17[19], Ingwal S Horgan 4[14], Gillman E Horgan 12, Amanda C Horgan 11, Oscar Horgan, 7 Clarence A Horgan 5, Martha K Horgan 73.

Found in the 1915 - 1930 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:

1915: Oscar Horgen age 13.

1920: Gilbert Horgen 60, Isabelle Horgen 60, Jugual Horgen 24, Gilman Horgen 21, Amanda Horgen 19, Oscar Horgen 18, Clarence Horgen 13, Martha Horgen 83.

1925: Gillen H Horgen 65, Isabell R Horgen 65, Oscar Horgen 22, Clarence Horgen 18.

1930: Gilbert H Horgen 71, Isabell Horgen 70, Oscar Horgen 27.

Oscar married Etta Lubben August 22, 1931 at Iowa; the couple later divorced.

Found in the 1940 census at Peoria, Illinois: renting a room, divorced. Oscar Horgen age 37, machinist.

Oscar Haugen died November 2, 1976 at Shakopee, Scott, Minnesota and was buried at the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa.
