Rites for Osage Attorney, 88, to Be Tuesday

OSAGE, IOWA — Attorney William H. Salisbury, lifetime Mitchell County resident, died Sunday morning at his home here, having been ill the past two months. Funeral rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, in the charge of Reverend Paul Johnson. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Mr. Salisbury was born May 29, 1867, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Salisbury on a farm near Stacyville. He attended Upper Iowa University at Fayette and passed bar examinations following individual study. He is a former county superintendent of Mitchell county.
He entered law practice with attorney Willard Eaton in May, 1900, and continued until ill health forced his retirement two months ago. Mr. Salisbury was well known in the field of criminal law.
He married Mary E. Haight April 21, 1908, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Joan Burge, Arcadia, California, one grandson, a great granddaughter and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Burge, South Pasadena, California.
He was a member of Masonic Order, and of the Couer de Leon Commandery. He became a 50 year Mason several years ago.
