Hazel Schultz

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, 1996 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton, with Reverend Gregory Bjornstad officiating, for Hazel Schultz, 86, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and formerly of Grafton, who died Thursday, June 20, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.

Hazel was born November 4, 1909 in Barton Township, Worth County, Iowa near Grafton. Her parents were Otto and Alvina (Walk) Braun.

She married Lloyd F. Schultz on August 22, 1927 in Grafton. They made their home in the Grafton area. Lloyd preceded her in death in 1931. Hazel worked for 20 years for the Grafton telephone company and also worked for 20 years for Dr. Koschmeder. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grafton and the Women of the Church. She served for many years as the Sunday School Treasure.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd, three sons, Lester, Elmer and Lowell, one brother Harvey Braun, and one sister Violet Braun.

Survivors include one son, Glenn Schultz of West Burlington; three sisters, Dorothy Rodemaker of Manly, Gertrude Merkel of Mason City, and Evelyn Nelson of Lime Springs; and two brothers, Armond Braun of St. Ansgar and Everett Braun of Grafton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery.
