Regina Koenigs, 91

STACYVILLE, IOWA - Regina (Bissen) Koenigs, 91, of Stacyville, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Regina (Bissen) Koenigs was born June 2, 1908 at Johnsburg, Minnesota, the daughter of John and Christina (Waldorf) Bissen.

She married Arnold Koenigs at Meyer, Iowa, April 30, 1929, and they farmed in the Meyer, Iowa area until retirement in 1976, when they moved to Stacyville, Iowa. She enjoyed her family, quilting, gardening and flowers.

Survivors include her children, Bonita and John Streit, Mary Ann and Norb Klapperich and Aggie and Maynard Theobald, all of Stacyville, Iowa, Geni and Ken Detviler, Inver Grove Heights, Geri and Roger Fisher, Shakopee, Gilbert and Norma Koenigs, Inver Grove Heights and Bernie amd Judy Kopenigs of Eagle Lake, 39 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.

· Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2000, at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, Iowa, with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating.

· Visitation: 2:30-8 p.m. today Friday at Visitation Catholic Church with 3 p.m. rosary and 7:30 p.m. wake service.

· Interment: Visitation Church Cemetery.

· Funeral Home: Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Regina (Bissen) Koenigs was born on June 2, 1908 at Johnsburg, Minnesota. She lost both of her parents when she was very young, the daughter of John and Christina (Waldorf) Bissen.

She was one of eight children, all of whom are deceased.

On April 30, 1929, Regina was married to Arnold Koenigs at Meyer, Iowa. They farmed in the Meyer community until their retirement to Stacyville in 1976. They were the parents of eight children, who were their pride and joy. The family enjoyed many get-togethers over the many years. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Regina was an avid quilter and enjoyed her quilting parties and making many quilts by herself over the years. She shared them with her children and relatives. She also enjoyed her garden and flowers.

Regina was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; one son, Marvin; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She is survived by her children: Bonita Streit, Gilbert Koenigs, Mary Ann Klapperich, Bernard Koenigs, Aggie Theobald, Geni Detviler, Gerri Fisher; 39 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
