Villo E. Offen Jr., 53

MCINTIRE, Iowa - Villo E. Offen Jr., 53 of McIntire, Iowa, died at his residence January 11, 2000 with his wife and children present.

He was born on December 18, 1946, at Riceville, Iowa to Villo and Elizabeth (Weber) Offen. He was one of four children born to the marriage. He attended local schools and graduated Riceville High School and later earned a degree in diesel mechanics. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed Vietnam.

On Jan. 25, 1969 he married Sandy K. Heimerman at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Meyer, Iowa and the couple farmed beginning in 1974.

He was a member of the Hale Penney American Legion Post 569, Stacyville, Iowa, and Osage VFW Post 7920, Osage, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Sandy Offen, McIntire, Iowa; daughters Lynnette Offen, Minneapolis, Michelle (Randy) Richardson, Riceville, Iowa, Deanne (Rob) Tyler, Rockford, Iowa, and Janelle Offen, McIntire, Iowa; one son, Daniel Offen, McIntire, Iowa; two grandchildren; three sisters, Bonnie (Don) LeFevre, Guttenberg, Iowa, Dorothy (Jim) Schwab, Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Nancy Meyer, Postville, Iowa; plus his mother-in-law Marcene Heimerman, Stacyville, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Francis Heimerman.

· Service: Held Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Meyer, Iowa with the Rev. Joseph M. Schneider officiating.

· Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa.

· Funeral Home: Lindstrom Funeral Home, Riceville, Iowa.

Funeral services for Villo Offen Jr. of McIntire were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 14 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer. The Rev. Joseph M. Schneider officiated. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Villo, 53, died Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at his home.

Villo E. Offen was born December 18, 1946 in Riceville, the son of Villo and Elizabeth (Weber) Offen. He attended local schools and graduated from the Riceville High School and went on to receive a degree in diesel mechanics. He served in the army and was stationed in Vietnam.

On January 25, 1969 he married Sandy K. Heimerman at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Meyer. They started farming in 1974. Villo was a member of the Hale Penney American Legion Post 569 of Stacyville, and the Osage V.F.W. Post 7920 of Osage.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy of McIntire; four daughters: Lynnette Offen of Minneapolis, MN, Michelle Richardson of Riceville, Deanne Tyler of Rockford, and Janelle Offen of McIntire; one son: Daniel of McIntire; two grandchildren; three sisters: Bonnie LeFevre of Guttenberg, Dorothy Schwab of Cedar Falls and Nancy Meyer of Postville.

Villo was preceded in death by his parents.
