Leon E. `Lee' Sheldon

CLEAR LAKE, IOWA - Leon E. ``Lee'' Sheldon, 56, of 2400 S. Shore Drive, died Sunday (Feb. 23, 1997) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Minn., following services. Visitation will begin after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Leon E. Sheldon Memorial Fund.

Lee was born May 1, 1940 in Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa.

Lee is survived by his wife, Gladys Sheldon, Clear Lake; two daughters, Betty Sheldon and LaBeth Sheldon, both of Clear Lake; stepson, Kevin Whipple, Iowa City; one sister, Sandra Dunn, Austin, Minn.; one brother, Leonard Sheldon Jr., Austin, Minn.; his stepfather, Harley Johnson, Austin, Minn.; a stepbrother; and stepsisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one stepsister.
