Gordon M. Allison, age 80, of Mesa, Arizona, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at the Odyssey Hospice Center.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Mesa. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa.
Gordon was born on January 27, 1921 in Osage, Iowa, the son of Ira and Hazel Allison. He graduated from the OHS in 1928. He served in the South Pacific in World War II. Gordon married Beverly Billings on May 31, 1942, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Gordon worked for John Deere in Waterloo as a draftsman. He then moved to Osage, where he was a parts man for the Venteicher Implement in Osage. He became a State Farm Insurance agent in Osage, then later transferred to Mason City as district manager.
They were residents of Mesa, Arizona, for the past 30 years where he was employed by the Mesa Public Schools.
Those that survive him include his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Debrah and husband, Bob Adams of Duluth, Minnesota and Dauri Furgerson and husband, Bob of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Kehoe of Sun Lakes, Arizona.
