Martin G. Kittleson was born on June 13, 1867 at St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa, the son of John (Johanes) F. Kittleson and Bertha Gulliksdatter (nee Holtan) Kittleson. Both parents were born in Buskerud county, Norway.

He was baptized on June 21, 1867. His middle name was Gullik; actually his name was probably Gullik Martin Kittleson, but he chose to be known as Martin.

He died on January 5, 1898 in Grand Falls, Texas.

Martin is survived by his parents, and by two brothers and sisters, Charles Edward Kittleson and Carrie Louise Kittleson.

He was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Andreas J.

A funeral service was conducted on January 11, 1898 at First Lutheran Church. Martin was buried in First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, beside his brother, Andreas.
