Funeral Held
Friday, August 1, 1980

Funeral services for Christian C. Hansen, age 70, of Stacyville, Mitchell county, Iowa, who died on July 29, 1980 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Olmsted county, Minnesota, were held on August 1, 1980 at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa, with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Osage, and the Rev. Gaylord Grant of Lyle, Minnesota, officiating.

Christian Carl Hansen was born on June 7, 1910, the son of Jeppe Peter and Mary (Nelson) Hansen near St. Ansagar, Iowa. He attended the Spring Valley high school and graduated from Otranto high school in 1928.

After graduation he was engaged in livestock and grain farming with his father, and aided in salesmanship of farm machinery, and was area block man for the John Deere Company for several years. He later specialized in truck farming in Iowa and Minnesota, was a turkey producer and also did extensive tiling projects in many areas of Iowa and Minnesota.

Mr. Hansen was active in many farm organizations and community projects. He married Doris Berg in Princeton, Missouri on July 17, 1941. They made their home in the St. Ansgar area until 1975 when they moved to St. Ansgar. One son was born to them.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Jeffrey; two grandchildren, Heather and Jeremy; his mother, Mary; and sister, Leona. both of St. Ansgar.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Helen.

Burial was in Woodbury cemetery near Otranto.
