Lilly 'Liv' Siple

A memorial service for Lilly "Liv" Siple will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester with Rev. Bruce Buller officiating. Barial will be in Wayne Cemetery in McIntire, Iowa.

Mrs. Siple, 94, of Rochester Died Friday (Dec. 26, 2008) at Shorewood Senior Campus.

Lilly Olson was born in Christiania, Norway, and moved with her family to the United States at a young age. She graduated from high school in Riceville, Iowa and from Hamilton College in Mason city, Iowa. For many years she worked as a switchboard operator at Rochester Methodist Hospital. On November 21, 1936, she married Everett Siple.

Mrs. Siple was proud of her Norwegian Heritages and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, music and painting.

Survivors include a son, John (JoAnn) of Rochster, a duaghter Barbara Kallstrom of Bloomington, Minn; seven great gramdchildren; and her longtime companion, Neill Heusinkveld of Rochster. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1989; her parents, Chris and Marie (Ellingson) Olson; and a sister.

Visitation will be an hour before the service at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes.

Memorails bay be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
