Darlene "Poochie" Mayer, age 78, of Stacyville, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Friday, October 3, 2008, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center-Hospice Unit in Osage.

A funeral mass was held on Monday, October 6, 2008, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville, with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Inurnment was at the Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville.

She was born April 16, 1930, in Stacyville, the daughter of Paul and Rose (King) Huemann.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Robert; by two sons; by two daughers; grandchildren and other family members.
