Brenda Sue Ricke, age 41, of Garner, Iowa, and formerly of Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, died on Friday, October 3, 2008. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, Iowa, with Father Brian Dellaert officiating. Burial was at the Eden Presbyterian Cemetery, 3105 Glass Ave., rural Rudd, Iowa (Mitchell county).

Brenda was born July 22, 1967, in Osage, the daughter of Dean and Elsie (Gerdes) Nuehring. She graduated from Osage High School in 1985. She married Randy Ricke on September 30, 1989, in Garner, and they lived in the Garner area.

Brenda was employed at Principal Financial in Mason City. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, where she was a member of the Slovik Ladies Group. Brenda served on the Garner Park and Rec Board. She was also active in the Garner Sports Booster Club, Music Booster Club, and the Garner Post Prom Committee.

Brenda is survived by husband, Randy Ricke of Garner; three children, Amber, Stephanie and Alex Ricke of Garner; father, Dean Nuehring and wife Dorothy of Osage; sisters, Avon (Jerry) Rurup of Titonka, Donna (Marloe) Ellingson of Joice, Nancy (Neal) Hirota of Osage, Janet (Gerard) May of Osage, Ronda Olson of Rose Creek, Minnesota, sister-in-law, Sharon Nuehring Mihm of Mason City, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Nuehring; a brother, Dennis Nuehring; and her mother-in-law Eleanore Ricke.
