ST. ANSGAR, IOWA -- Bonita Mae Mayer, 56, of St. Ansgar, died Sunday (June 29, 2008) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery at St. Ansgar.
Visitation is from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with a Scripture wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church.
Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 641-732-3706, is in charge of arrangements.

Bonita Mae Mayer
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Bonita Mae Mayer, 56, of St. Ansgar, died Sunday (June 29, 2008) at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
Bonita was born on May 22, 1952, in Osage, the daughter of Neul and Lucy (Nagle) Larson.
She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1970, and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City.
On May 19, 1973, Bonita married Wayne Mayer at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar, after which they lived in St. Ansgar. She was a member of the St. Ansgar Garden Club and the St. Ansgar Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and especially her grandchildren.

Bonita is survived by a daughter, Robyn (Patrick) Knowlton and children, William and Lylah of St. Ansgar; a son, Gabe (Michelle) Mayer and children, Olivia and Katie of St. Ansgar; a sister, Gloria (Bob) Stewart of Faribault, Minn.; a brother, Dudley (Linda) Thompson of South Bend, Ind.; her mother-in-law, Marjorie Mayer, of Stacyville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Terry and Linda Mayer of St. Ansgar, Grace Mayer of Mantorville, Minn., Sandra Mayer, of Rochester, Minn., Dan and Wanda Warrington of St. Ansgar, Matt and Diane Duvall of Denver, Colo., Josh and Gwen Isler of St. Ansgar, and Dean and Diane Mayer of St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Mayer in 2005; her parents, Neul and Lucy Larson; her father-in-law, Gene Mayer; a brother-in-law, Kevin Mayer; and two nephews.
