Herman Joseph Eisterhold was born March 12, 1907, in Rich Fountain, Mo., the son of Frank and Dora Eisterhold.

On Oct. 12, 1931, he married Florentina Thome at Meyer, Iowa. They resided at Meyer until 1946, when they moved to their home on Austin Rt. 1. He was employed at the Hormel Co., retiring in 1970.

Mr. Eisterhold died May 29, 1976, at St. Olaf Hospital after being ill three weeks.

He is survived by his wife; six children, Marian Elton, Bloomington, Minn., Elizabeth Compardo, Huntington Beach, Calif., Dorothy Dempsey, Aviano, Italy; John Eisterhold, Albert Lea, Sue Witter, Linda Mahon, Rochester; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Eisterhold, Rich Fountain, Mo., Louis Eisterhold, Atlantic, Iowa; five sisters, Coonie Schoenauer, Louisa Menguasser, Jefferson City, Mo., Ann Barringer, Atlantic, Iowa, Louvina Rau, Portsmouth, Iowa, Sister Mary Corna, St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. June 2, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Fr. Dernek officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Mayer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Jake Eisterhold, Francis Eisterhold, Fred Sistek, Ken Penkava, Pete Radmacher, Leonard Raut. Sister Andrea was the singer and Mrs. Schindler, organist.
