Mike R. Soltero, 88, of St. Ansgar died September 10, 2021 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

A memorial service will be held September 13, 2021 at St. Ansgar City Cemetery with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Visitation will be on September 12 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar.

Mike was born on October 17. 1932 to Miguel and Guadalupe (Ramirez) Soltero in Santa Maria, California. He attended school there and graduated from Santa Maria High School.

After school Mike was in the military. He was a Korean War Vet and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class.

In December of 1969, Mike married Corliss McCormick in California.

After the military, Mike worked for McDonald Douglas until retirement. He then worked for Richard Rosenberg Farms and Chuck's Sportsman Lounge.

Mike loved sports. He was an avid Rams fan, enjoyed a cold Budweiser on a hot day, spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoying time with his legion buddies and friends. He never met a stranger, just a friend he had not met yet.

Mike is survived by his children; Cynthia (Jerry) Whitham of California and their daughter, Lisa, Michael (Alisson) Soltero of Texas and their son Aaron; Peggy Soltero of North Carolina and her sons Kirk and Lee Whitham, Anthony (Josie) Soltero of California and their children, Natasha and Skyler, and Jason Soltero (Melissa Hammond) and children, Elijah, J.T., Alarick and Ryker; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Raquel Soltero, Ernie (Esther) Soltero, Irene (Adam) Corona, and Paul (Sandra) Soltero; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded by his parents, wife, Corliss, and siblings, Tony Soltero and Helen Carrarsco.
