Patricia Joan Buttolph, (84), of Elma, Iowa, passed away on December 4, 2018, in Elma.

Patricia Joan Buttolph was born in Mitchell, Iowa, to Pearl (Cameron) and Donald Graves on August 7, 1934. She went to school at Riceville High School.

She married Harold Buttolph on June 20th 1954 in Riceville, Iowa. In addition to being a farm wife and mother, Pat worked as a nurse’s aide for Cresco Care Center for many years. She was involved in Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and United Methodist Women where she enjoyed many hours of fellowship. Pat spent hours bird watching, flower gardening, playing cards, antiquing, and shopping at thrift stores. She always appreciated a cup of coffee and good conversation.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents Pearl and Donald Graves, brother Robert Graves, sister Marie Crank, and infant brother David Graves.

Pat is survived by Harold, her husband of 64 years and sister-in-law, Helen Graves, Riceville; Children: Greg (Judie) Buttolph of Chico, California; Glen (Kara) Buttolph of Kersey, Colorado; Gerald (Renae) Buttolph of Elma, Iowa; and Nancy (Dick) Broadwater of Harmony, Minnesota. Grandchildren include: Nick (Amy) Buttolph, Elma, Iowa; Amanda (T.J.) Granahan, Elma, Iowa; Joshua (Cassandra) Broadwater, Chatfield, Minnesota; Amelia Buttolph, Jacksonville, North Carolina; Sarah (Chris) Kiefer, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Shelby (John) Hedlund, Copperas Cove, Texas; and Jesse Buttolph, Decorah, Iowa, and 11 great-Grandchildren: John David, Maxwell, Oscar, Alice, Kinnick, Lexie, Owen, Charlotte, Nora, Audrey and Ava. Pat also leaves behind many members of an extended family and close friends.

The family of Pat wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the care team at Colonial Manor in Elma for the professional and compassionate care she received as a resident and in her final days.
