Bernard Burl Wagner, age 82, of Osage, died Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Bernard was born November 19, 1934, in Osage the son of Edward and Jessie (Tibbitts) Wagner. He attended Burr Oak country school. Bernard was a farmer his entire life.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Cole on August 17,1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage Elevator and Farm Bureau. Bernard enjoyed farming, raising livestock, playing cards, dancing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Sandra of Osage; seven children, Randy (Jodi) Wagner of Decorah, Corrine (Scott) Shoars of Ventura, Alan (JoAnn) Wagner of Orchard, Marcia (Rob) Smith of Buffalo, NY, Jeanie (Jeff) Graeve of Ankeny, Loren (Sandy) Wagner of Osage, Kevin (Michele) Wagner of Osage; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Marcella Chrencik of Osage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene Wagner.
