Julia Elizabeth Bysong (95) died Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI. She was born July 23, 1921 in Omrod, Pennsylvania; daughter of Theodore and Theodozia (Szczerbata) Kowny. In 1921 the family moved to Mason City, Iowa. Julia attended Mc Kinley & Lincoln school and graduated from Mason City High school in 1939.
On July 27, 1940, she married Fred J. Bysong at St. Bridgets Church in Bluffton, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Mason City. In 1956 they moved to Rock Falls, Wisconsin where they operated a dairy farm. Julia worked as lunch director for the Durand High School for two years. After working as a secretary at the Durand Canning Company for over twenty years she retired in 1986. Fred died March 12, 1989. In April of 1992 Julia moved to Durand.
She loved to sew, crochet and garden. She was a member of Rock Creek Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and secretary to the church council for many years. Julia was an active member of the Rock Falls Senior Citizens where she served in different offices. She was also a member of the Durand Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel (Linda) of Durand, WI, Joseph of Bixby, OK and Daniel of Buffalo City, WI; grandchildren, Lori and Tessa (Derek Lindblom) of Chicago, IL; great-grandson, Soren; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred; siblings, Mary Kowny, Nellie Belseth, Anna Cimijotti, Michael, Stephen and John Knowny.
