Died July 14, 2017
Marilyn De Vries, age 73, of Osage, died Friday, July 14, 2017, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17 ,2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Rev. Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Marilyn was born August 16, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Mickey and Phyllis (Oftedahl) Clements. She grew up in Manly and attended school there.
Marilyn married Edward Beyer and to this union two children were born. They later divorced.
On October 2, 1982, she was united in marriage to Duane De Vries at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. Marilyn was an avid CBer and her handle was Blue Denim. She will be missed for being the life of the party and her quick wit.
Marilyn was very crafty making flower arrangements, art, painting and cross stitching. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family
Marilyn is survived by her husband Duane De Vries of Osage; one daughter, Lisa Cheney of Mason City; one son, John (Ann) Beyer of St. Ansgar; three step-children, Troy (Wendy) De Vries of Ankeny, Tamera (Rod) Greiner of Reinbeck and Todd (Lori) De Vries of Newton; two sisters, Connie Lunning of Mason City, and Kim Boice; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
