FUNERAL NOTICE:

WATERLOO, IOWA - Virginia R. Wilkins, 86, died on April 25, 2017, at her home in Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating.

Burial will be in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter, Iowa.

Obituary--

Virginia was born on July 10, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, to John and Irma (Gerlach) Ball.

She was a store accountant for B.F. Goodrich in Austin, Mn., Fargo, N.D., Mason City, Ia. and Sioux Falls, S.D. Virginia married Leo Wilkins on July 2, 1963 at Hilltop Methodist Church, Sioux Falls, S.D. She worked in a donut shop in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring to help raise her two grandsons.

Viginia was a member of the Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, Waterloo, where she worked in the Helping Hands Program.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Ball Johnson.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Leo of Waterloo; daughter, Teresa (Brian) Gerst of Waterloo and their two sons, Matthew and Andrew
Gerst.

Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa, with the Rev. Karen Larson officiating.

Burial will be in the Newburg Cemetery, Carpenter, Iowa.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.
