Kenneth 'Kenny' Johnson, Spokane, Washington, formerly Osage
OSAGE, IOWA — Kenneth “Kenny” Johnson, 76, of Osage, passed away January 12, 2017, peacefully at his home in Spokane, WA, with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis T. and Alice Johnson from rural Rudd and his favorite uncle John “Sonny” Herron of Mason City.
Kenny leaves behind his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 55 years, Erma (Lievrouw); his children Jackie (Rick) Powell and Kirk Johnson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers: Louis (Betty) Johnson of Houston, TX, and Keith (Suzanne) Johnson of Mason City, and his favorite cousin Betty Anderson of Phoenix, AZ.
Ken retired as a senior master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in 1981 and from the City of Spokane in 1992. In retirement Ken enjoyed Corvettes, guns, carpentry, the Seattle Seahawks, the great outdoors and family time.
A celebration of life is tentatively planned for July 1 at the parents’ farm in Rudd. Details will be announced as the date approaches.
Special Thanks to the angelic staff at Hospice of Spokane. They were godsent support in our hours of need.
