STACYVILLE, IOWA - Joan E. Adams, age 82, of Stacyville, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.

Died February 25, 2017Joan Elaine Adams, age 82, of Stacyville, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home in Stacyville.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Stacyville. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville.
Joan was born March 31, 1934, in Austin, Minnesota the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Hovey) Ulven. She graduated from the Austin High School. Joan married Walter Adams on April 24, 1954, at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville. She worked beside her husband in his painting and decorating business. Joan was a member of Visitation Catholic Church. She was also member of Visitation Christian Mothers and Stacyville Firemen’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, and Friday night family get togethers. Family was very important to Joan.
Joan is survived by her children, Julie (Allyn) Brumm of Stacyville, Janet (Gerry) Probst of Appleton, Wisconsin, Jay (Mary) Adams of Stacyville, Jude (Kenny) Adams of Stacyville, Jo (Brian) Saltou of Riceville and Julene Mueller and friend Jim Blake of Stacyville; grandchildren, Corissa Meek, Allison Hemann, Scott Brumm, Michele Gossen, Carie Fischer, Candi Pavlik, Cathy Rosenow, Paula Beyer, Kyle Adams, Kory Adams, Kelly Adams, Ray Mueller, Sarah Mueller; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Alexis Meek, Raelei and Austin Hemann, Bryanna Vokoun, Abbey, Avery and Aidan Gossen, Anna Hatton, Gavin and Josie Fischer, Hailey Pavlik, Riley and Bentley Adams, Breahna and A.J. Rosenow, Spencer and Madison Beyer; special family member, Randy Mueller; a brother, Donald (Marian) Ulven of Buffalo, Missouri; twin sister, Jane Gerbig of Stacyville; and sister, Sherry (Darrell) Kroneman of Austin, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter in 2011; and brother, Duane Ulven.
