Neil Harlan Bisbee, age 89, of Stacyville, and for the past year a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at the United Church of Christ in Osage with Pastor Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Neil was born October 17, 1926, in Rock Township, Mitchell County, the son of Bradford and Edna (Decker) Bisbee. He attended Union Township Country School. Neil was united in marriage to Lucille Brandau on September 28, 1949, at Eden Presbyterian Church, rural Rudd and this past September they celebrated their 66th Anniversary. They made their home and farmed on the family farm near Stacyville. Neil was a member of the United Church of Christ in Osage, the Sons of Norway, and a past 4-H leader. He enjoyed woodworking for his family, toy tractor collecting and being out in Nature.
Neil is survived by his wife, Lucille of Stacyville; his children: Harlan (Mary) Bisbee of McIntire and their children, Lisa Bisbee and Brian (Sandy) Bisbee; Joyce (Dennis) Rachut of Osage and their children, Steven (Beth) Rachut, Kevin Rachut and Rachel Rachut; Kay (Jim) Ferris of Sterling, IL and their daughter Emily Ferris; Jerry (Pat) Bisbee of Stacyville and their children, Bradford Bisbee, Melissa Bisbee and Olivia Bisbee; his great-grandchildren: Abby Rachut, Caleb Rachut, Ellery Rachut, Séamus Ferris and Kole Moretz; his sister, Beverly (Bob) Gaarder Williams of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents.
