Obituary for Dorothy Kephart
Dorothy Zelda Kephart, age 89, of Riceville passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Patty Elwood Center in Cresco, Iowa. A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 2 P.M. in Wayne Cemetery in rural McIntire, Iowa.
Dorothy was born on July 12, 1926, to James and Zelda (Shoemaker) McInnes. She attended local schools and graduated from LeRoy High School in LeRoy, Minnesota. On November 30, 1946 she married Glen Switzer. Glen passed away in 1951. On December 10, 1953 she married Ward Kephart Jr. He passed away in 1988. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include Gary (Mary) Switzer of Chaska, Minnesota, Duane (Faith) Switzer of Shakopee, Minnesota, Russell Kephart of Riceville, Iowa, and Randy (Lynette) Kepart of Riceville. Also surviving are a stepson Jerry (Pat) Kephart of Lake Mills, Iowa, a stepdaughter Mary (Jim) Reed of Lakeland, Tennessee, a sister-in-law Lorraine McInnes of Rochester, Minnesota, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, husband Ward Jr., a brother Donald and one grandson Bobby.
