RICEVILLE, IOWA — Dale R. Anderlik, age 85, of Riceville, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the Riceville Family Care Center in Riceville.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Steve Garner officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 407 Woodland Ave., Riceville, Iowa, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Dale is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene of Riceville; children, Susan (Russell) Smalley, Steven (Roni Rae) Anderlik, and Tom (Karen) Anderlik all of Riceville; nine grandchildren, Ryan (Susan) Smalley, Becky (fiancé Kevin Folkerts) Smalley, Curt (fiancée Jordan Kenison) Smalley, Shanna (Nate) Hale, Keith (Jamie) Anderlik, Amanda Whitacre, Brad Anderlik, Casey Anderlik, and Justin Anderlik; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Lillie and sister, Charlene Stark.

Dale R. Anderlik, age 85, of Riceville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the Riceville Family Care Center in Riceville, Iowa.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Steve Garner officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 407 Woodland Ave., Riceville, Iowa and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Dale Robert Anderlik was born December 27, 1930 to Norbert and Lillie (Kempf) Anderlik on the family farm east of Riceville. On June 6, 1953, Dale was united in marriage to Irene Richardson. Dale and Irene farmed until 1963. They moved to Riceville where Dale went into business, known as V&D Plumbing & Electric. Later, he started his own business, Dale’s TV & Appliances. Dale loved his garden flowers, especially his shamrocks. Dale also enjoyed bowling. He loved spending time with his family and was happy they were close so he could visit them often. Dale was a good man and will be missed.
