Independence, Iowa – C. E. Millington, 48, World War veteran, died at his home here Sunday morning following a week’s illness with influenza.
Funeral services will be held at Swan and Leytze’s Funeral Home here Tuesday morning and will be conducted by the Rev. J. H. Dew-Brittian, pastor of the James Episcopal Church. The body will be taken to Osage, his former home, where additional services will be held in the afternoon, burial will be in the cemetery in Orchard.
Mr. Millington was born at New Haven on Sept. 20, 1891, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryon Millington. Here came here from Osage in 1937. He was a sigh writer by trade. He was married at Osage on Feb. 29, 1936 to Miss Mary Campbell, who survives.
He enlisted at the outbreak of World War serving for three years. He was seven months to France.
Surviving are two daughters by a former marriage, Barbara of Los Angeles, Calif., and Patricia of Mankato, Minn., his father, Bryon Millington of Osage; two sisters, Hazel of Orchard and Mrs. L. B. Anderson of Osage; two brothers, Harold of Dearborn, Mich., and Herbert of St. Paul, Minn.
