ORCHARD, IOWA - Shirley Ann Teepe, 77, of Orchard, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Good Shepherd Health Center Mason City under Hospice care.
There will be a family and friends get together/birthday party for Shirley on Friday night, October 23, from 4:30-8 p.m. at Shirley's home, 324 Main Street, Orchard, Iowa.
A graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Jan Tjaden at the Orchard Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 24.
Following the graveside service there will be a luncheon at the American Legion (Log Cabin) on Center Street in Orchard.
Shirley was born October 23, 1937, the daughter of Leo and Elnora Tonn in Riceville, Iowa. She married David Teepe October 10, 1959, in Preston, Minnesota. She attended school in Elma, Iowa.
Shirley enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, watching NASCAR, baseball especially when the Twins were playing, also watching the birds outside, and she really enjoyed her Ladies Aid on Wednesdays with her friends Jill and Sara of Orchard. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #278. She also enjoyed playing POGO online with her friend Janel Onken.
Shirley was survived by her two children, Garry (Margaret) Teepe of Ankeny, Iowa, Jay (Marcie) Teepe of Mason City, Iowa; her four grandchildren Jay (J.D.) and Missy Teepe, Samantha Steele, and Dustin (Megan) Willis, all of Mason City, Iowa; by 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings Franny (Dolly) Tonn of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Charlotte (Max) McGrane of Fairbanks, Iowa; her sister in-law Gloria Tonn of Elma, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband David Teepe; by her parents Leo and Elnora Tonn, and by her brother, Louie Tonn.
