ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Robert "Huck" Wilson, 92, of St. Ansgar, died Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Robert “Huck” Wilson, 92, died on Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Memorial service will be on Friday, October 23, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Walter T. Enneberg Post #358 of the American Legion.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Robert James Wilson was born on February 18, 1923, to George and Ruth (Herron) Wilson in Osage, Iowa. He attended Mitchell County Country Schools and Mitchell High School. He worked for Adrian Kleckner’s dragline and backhoe business in Osage before enlisting in the U.S. Army during World War II for 2˝ years. He spent 2 years in the Aleutian Islands and was honorably discharged in December 1945.

Huck married Sylvia Dau Wright on December 12, 1952, and together they raised three children.

He spent the next 50 years as a truck driver and operated in the whole United States until illness forced retirement at age 77.

For many years he enjoyed spending several weeks a year fishing in northern Minnesota with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Dora Eastman, Alda Toye and Shirley Wrench; twin brothers Richard and Conald Wilson.

Huck is survived by Sylvia, his wife of 62 years; three children: David and Nancy of Rotunda, Florida, Suzette and Donald of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Eric and Norma of Carpenter, Iowa; five grandchildren: Ronald, Keri, James, Justin and Jason; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Edward of Memphis, Tennessee.

Family requests casual dress be worn to the service. The family of Huck’s expresses special thank-you’s to the Good Samaritan Staff and the St. Croix Hospice.
