Patricia Schulz Angell Mendez Moore

Died: October 14, 2015

Patricia Schulz Angell Mendez Moore, age 79, of Albuquerque, New Mexico and formerly of Osage, was wrapped in God’s loving arms after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home.

Patricia was born in Osage, Iowa, on January 14, 1936, to Harold and Esther (Baker) Schulz. She grew up and attended school in Mitchell, Iowa. Her siblings included Marge, Ronnie, and Terry.

On June 22, 1952, Patricia was united in marriage to Mervel (Duke) Angell. To this union five children were born, Merrill, Marsha, Mark, Kathy, and Laurie. They lived and worked in Osage and were engaged in farming. They were later divorced.

In June 1973, Patricia was united in marriage to Roberto Mendez in Muscatine, Iowa. They moved to Albuquerque and to this union two children were born, Robert and Amy. They were later divorced.

Patricia then went back to school to pursue a career in nursing and graduated as an RN. She spent her nursing career working at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, as a traveling nurse and as head nurse at Retarded Citizens Home. It was during that time that the career she loved was cut short due to a back injury.

On October 8, 1991, Patricia was united in marriage to Billy Moore in Las Vegas, Nevada. With this union Patricia's family continued to grow to include Sharon, Bruce, Pam, Ahmad, Rashad, and Jamaal. Together, she and Billy fostered many children and eventually adopted into their loving home Brittany, Ashley, and Joseph.

Throughout the years Patricia enjoyed breeding and raising poodles. You could always recognize her dogs as being the best dressed and groomed to perfection.

Patricia had many passions in her life but if you asked her what her greatest accomplishment was, she would mostly likely say to you it was her family; children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 24 years, Billy Moore of Albuquerque, New Mexico; children, Merrill (Rose) Angell of Riceville, Iowa, Marsha (Radar) Milton of Osage, Iowa, Mark Angell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathy (John) Sink of Tucson, Arizona, Robert (Berna) Mendez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Amy Murphy of Miamisburg, Ohio, Sharon (Tony) Norris of Katy, Texas, Bruce Moore of San Antonio, Texas, Pam Moore of San Antonio, Texas, Ahmad Moore of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Rashad Moore of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jamaal Moore of Saratoga Springs, New York, and Brittany, Ashley and Joseph Moore at home in Albuquerque, New Mexico; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Cabral of Napa, California; brother, Terry (Linda) Schulz of Osage, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Waiting to greet her in heaven are her parents, Harold Schulz and Esther Ruble; brother, Ronnie Schulz; and precious daughter, Laurie Angell.
