MRS. WILL DUNLAY
DIES; ILL SHORT TIMEFuneral services were held for Mrs. William Dunlay, Monday at the Sacred Heart church at Riceville, Iowa. Rev. Father O'Sullivan officiated. Burial was in the Sacred Heart cemetery there.
Mrs. Dunlay died Friday afternoon at Nissen hospital from pneumonia and complications. She was ill only two and a half weeks.
She was born in the Wapsie vicinity, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jordan, in 1891. After her marriage to William Dunlay they established their home on a farm near Bailey, and lived there until his death nine years ago. Since that time she had made her home with her son, Robert, on the home farm and with her other children.
Mrs. Dunlay was a devoted wife and mother and her greatest interest was always in her home and family. She enjoyed the society of her friends and neighbors and her pleasant home was always open to them.
Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Dunlay -- William, who died in infancy, and Mary, recently deceased. Surviving are one son, Robert, and four daughters: Mrs. George Bacvor, West Union; Kathryn, Council Bluffs, Mrs. H.L. Weber and Mrs. Melvin Meyer, Osage. Three grandchildren: Beverly Weber, Billy Joe Bacvor, and Denny Dunlay, also survive.
Those who came from a distance to attend the funeral service included Martin and Margaret Jordan and Edward Dillon of Rochester; Catherine Cannon and La Verne Jordan of Minneapolis; John Jordan of Waterloo.
