SEVEN-YEAR-OLD
GIRL DIES FROM
HEART FAILURE

Marian, 7-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Reed, died from heart disease at 11 o'clock Wednesday forenoon. While she had suffered from the disease the past three years, Marian had been much improved recently. On the morning of her death she had accompanied her mother out doors, and had seemed unusually active and happy. She suddenly fell and died instantly.

Marian was born in Osage and lived here most of her life. She had not entered school because of her disability. Surviving are her parents; her brother, Kenneth; and a sister, Wilma.

OBITUARY--

Marian Rae Reed, little daughter of Aubrey J. and Doris Marquardt Reed, was born at Osage on February 21, 1935. She passed away at the home of her parents in Osage on March 24, 1943.

While still a baby, Marian moved with her parents to Pleasantville, Iowa, where she lived until they returned to Osage in the fall of 1940. When she was four years old she developed a weak heart and has been an invalid since. She was not able to attend school. For the past three months she has been confined to her bed most of the time, although recently she seemed to be improving. Death came quite suddenly while she was at play last Wednesday morning.

She is survived by her parents; one sister, Wilma Mae; one brother, Kenneth Lee; and her grandfather, Joseph Reed.

Funeral services will be held at the Champion Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Stiles Lessly, with burial in the Osage cemetery.
