EDWIN CONDON DIES
AT FARM HOME
NEAR RICEVILLEEdwin Condon, 81, died at his home Sunday evening, after an illness that extended over a long time. He had been confined to his bed for two years. About two weeks ago he became worse and steadily failed.
Mr. Condon was born on February 26, 1862, at Kinmundy, Illinois, and came to this county when a young man. He married here to Margaret Doran, and they settled on the farm four miles west and two miles north of Riceville, that has been their home for nearly 50 years.
To them were born ten children, the eldest of whom, a daughter, Helen, died when a few months old. The other children and Mrs. Condon survive; also 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The children are: Helen Hentges of Rudolph, Wisconsin; Nina Burke, Waterloo; Dr. Edwin Condon, New Haven; Raymond Condon, Cresco; Catherine Vihstadt, Rochester; Margaret Condon, Omaha, Nebraska; Mary Ackerman and James Condon, at home. Mrs. Ackerman has cared for her parents for some time.
Funeral service was held Wednesday morning at the Catholic church at Riceville at 9:30 o'clock and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery there.
