February 24, 1928 – June 18, 2015
Delores O. Halterman, age 87, of Osage, died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Osage Alliance Church in Osage with Pastor Jim Stern officiating. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship following services at the Osage Alliance Church. Private burial will be at the Osage Cemetery.
Delores was born February 24, 1928, in Hellam, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George E. and Alice Cora (Oeilweiler) Kohler. She graduated from Hellam High School. On August 10, 1946, she married James R. Halterman. Over the years, Delores did factory work in Pennsylvania, was a cook at Mt. Vernon and Osage schools, assisted with the family business Halterman Implement, and was activity coordinator at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Alliance Women Missionary Group. Delores was on the KJCY radio committee to bring Christian radio to the Osage area and served as KJCY treasurer. She enjoyed sewing, golf, traveling, volunteer work, church activities, and making greeting cards.
Delores is survived by her daughters, April (Max) Nicol of Osage, Christine (Craig) Winters of Little Cedar, Bev (David) Butterfield of Kansas City, Missouri, and Karen Halterman of Osage; grandchildren, Valerie (Eric) Tichy and Jonathan (Shannon) Nicol, Jennifer (Doug) Droll, Benjamin (Alicia) Winters, Nicolas (Martha) Winters and Elizabeth (Kendal) Duck, Sarah Butterfield and Sam Butterfield; great-grandchildren, Isaac Breon, Megan Breon and Aaron Tichy, Aedan, Addison, Corbin and Cora Nicol, Madeleine, Colin, Juliana, Corina, and Alex Droll, Olliver, Henry and Vincent Winters, Cherith, Caleb, Will, Joel and Levi Winters, and Trystan and Trevor Duck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. Halterman in 1994; five brothers; four sisters; and a sister in infancy.
