ORCHARD, IOWA - Joyce A. (Hewitt) Shaw, 69, of Orchard, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Linn Haven Rehabilitation and Healthcare in New Hampton.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place. Inurnment will be at a later date at Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, cremation will take place. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Park Cemetery in Nora Springs.
Joyce was born April 11, 1945, in Mason City, the daughter of Elmer, Sr. and Betty (Lewis) Hewitt. Joyce attended school in Nora Springs. On October 9, 1988, Joyce was united in marriage to Harley Shaw at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Orchard. She loved to bake, her cookies and homemade bread were the best, but she was especially known for lemon pie, it was legendary.
Joyce enjoyed crocheting blankets, doll dresses, hats, mittens and scarves. She also enjoyed woodworking and many other crafts. Joyce loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and would spend as much time as possible with them.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Harley Shaw of Orchard; her two daughters, Kelly (Marvin) Christensen of Fredericksburg and Robbyn (Mike) Oberbroeckling of Sumner; three step-sons, Ronald, Jim and Darrell Shaw; step daughter, Dawn Shaw; a special grandson who was like a son, Marquis Shaw of Mason City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Graham of Rockford and Lola Hewitt-Mills of Burnsville, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott David Hewitt; four brothers, William Burgess, Gene Lewis, Elmer Hewitt, Jr. and her twin brother Jerry Hewitt.
