Clara Alcora Norby was born October 7, 1892 at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa to Iver Halsteinsen Norby and Gustava Karina Hendrikson, the third of their four children.
Clara was baptized on November 6, 1892 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Olaus Norby; Henry Norby and Ida Hendricksen. She was confirmed at RCLC on June 2, 1907. Clara never married, nor had children. She was a nurse.
Found in the 1895 - 1920 censuses living at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa:
1895: Clara Norby age 2.
1900: Iver I Norby 41, Hialmer Norby 12, Adolph I Norby 9, Clara A Norby 7.
1905: Clara Norby age 12.
1915: Clara Norby age 22.
1920: Adolph Norby 27, Iver Norby 61, Clara Norby 26.
Found in the 1910 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Iver I Norby 52, Hjalman H Newby 22, Adolf Theodore Norby 19, Clara Norby 17, Toran Newby 72.
Found in the 1925 - 1940 censuses at Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa:
1925: Clara A Norby age 32, nurse, renting a room.
1930: Clara A Norby age 37.
1940: Clara A Norby age 47. Superintendent of nurses at Presbyterian Hospital & Nurses home.
Clara A Norby died August 19, 1959 at Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #52063707.
