Theodor Oscar Nelson was born November 4, 1885 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa to Erick Thorgrimsen Dynna Nelson and Inger Emelja Syverud, the fifth of their nine children. He was named in honor of his brother, Theodor Oscar Nelson who had been born April 11, 1884 and died December 8, 1884.
Theodor was baptized on December 6, 1885 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Torger Nilsen; Hans Hansen and Karen Iversrud.
Theodor married Tilde Emilie Krogstad on October 14, 1908 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa. The couple had 2 children.
Found in the 1900 - 1930 censuses living at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa:
1900: Erick T Nelson 45, Ida Nelson 43, Clara Nelson 20, Mary Nelson 18, Theodore Nelson 14, Emma Nelson 11, Carl Nelson 2, Torgrim Nelson 71.
1910: Theodore O Nelson 24, Tilde Emilie Krogstad Nelson 25.
1920: Theodor O Nelson 34, Tillie Nelson 36, Beula Nelson 6, Ole P Hagen 20, Iver P Hagen 20.
1930: Theodore Nelson 44, Tillie Nelson 45, Erling Nelson 8, Beulah Nelson 16, Fred Zody 21.
Theodore Nelson died 1966 at either Mitchell County, Iowa or Oregon (conflicting data found). He is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
