Wanda May Thompson, age 99, of Osage, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Osage with Pastor Paul Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Brownville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Wanda was born June 1, 1915, in Brownville, Iowa, the daughter of Hubert and Mabel (Rader) Knight. She attended rural country school. Wanda married Archie Q. Thompson on September 13, 1931, at the Methodist Parsonage in Osage. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eveready Circle. Wanda cooked for many years at the Maid-Rite in Osage and was known for her delicious sweet rolls and pies. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, and baking.

Wanda is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Beyer of Mitchell, Janis Leegaard of Mason City; two sons, David (Cecelia) Thompson of Stamford, Nebraska, Randy Thompson of Clear Lake; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie Thompson; daughter, Loma Jean; and sons, Marshall Lee, Gary Ray and Richard Allen.
