MURIEL MELLINGER
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 16, 1983, of Muriel Mellinger, a former Mitchell County resident, at the Locke Funeral Home in Waterloo. Mrs. Mellinger died on Sunday at a Waterloo nursing home at the age of 86. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua. Murial Crawford Mellinger was the daughter of Frank and Martha Hudson Crawford and was born on a farm near Orchard, Iowa.
A graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, she was a school teacher at Plainfield where she met and married her husband, Galen. The couple lived in Nashua and Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Anna.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Zach of Bettendorf; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Local relatives, all cousins, include Maurice Hudson, Maurice Champion, Maurine Hudson, Mrs. John Love and Mary Louise Norby.
