(Died October 6, 2014)

Sharon Kaye (Francis) Canny died peacefully at her home in Osage on Monday, October 6, 2014, at the age of 72.

Private family services will be held with burial at the Osage Cemetery.

Sharon was born November 8, 1941, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Martha (Dreyer) Francis. She graduated from high school in Le Roy, Minnesota in 1960. Sharon married Ronald Canny on June 30, 1961, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage. Sharon and Ron owned Ron’s Tavern, Canny Livestock and Canny Trucking. She worked as a bookkeeper for Randall Construction and was an employee at Faith Lutheran Home until her retirement. Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to work in her yard and garden, and enjoyed painting. She was a self-taught artist with amazing skills. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Sharon also loved to travel. She was a truck driver with her husband seeing the continental 48. She then went on a cruise to Alaska, and visited her daughter, Kim, in Hawaii.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron in 1987; and an infant brother, Melvin Francis, Jr.

Sharon is survived by her children, Julie (Ken) Meitner of St. Ansgar and Kim Canny of Orchard; six grandchildren, Andrea Jeffries, Elyse (Nick) Wagner, Dustin Meitner, Shannon (Brandon) Pajer, Ethan (Brittany) Jeffries and Chandler Banta; six great grandchildren, Makayla, Karlie and Koby Wagner, Aubrey Roths, Jace Pajer, and Hadlyn Jeffries.
