Funeral services are pending at the Locke funeral home for Clifford R. Austin, 85, who died at the Barton Convalescent Home at 9:10 a.m. Sunday of complications of advanced age.
Mr. Austin was born November 23, 1873, at Osage, Iowa, the son of Stephen and Martha Austin. He married Myrtle DeFord In 1902 at Osage.
He lived in Waterloo about 40 years and was a retired real estate man. He was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Dell Davis, 704½ Jefferson St.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one brother.
