Thomas Larson was born March 8, 1859, in Norway, to Anna Torstensen and Lars Hanson.

He immigrated to the U.S. in 1885, settling in Nebraska. There he worked as a blacksmith until 1887.

On September 14, 1891, Thomas married Olia Olsdatter (Lena) Haugen (b May 8, 1863 Oppland, Norway, d March 14, 1949 Osage, Iowa) at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had one daughter, Avilla Amalia Larson (b December 12, 1892 Superior, Douglas, Wisconsin, married Olvin Herbert Moe, d September 12, 1979 Osage, Iowa).

Thomas and Lena moved to Superior, Wisconsin and lived there about six years. In 1897, they moved to Little Falls, Morrison, Minnesota and lived there for seventeen years.

Found in the 1900, 1910 censuses living at Pike Creek, Morrison, MN:

1900: Thomas Larson 41, Lena Larson 37, Avilla Larson 6.

1910: Thomas Larson 51, Lena Larson 47, Avilla A Larson 17.

In 1914, they moved to a farm southwest of Osage which Thomas farmed until 1947. Thomas and Harry O Haugen bought the farm from Louis Savre and wife.

Found in the 1915 - 1940 censuses at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:

1915: Thomas Larson age 56.

1920: Thomas Larson 60, Lena Larson 56, Avecola A Larson 28.

1925: Thomas Larson 65, Lena Larson 63, Avilla A Larson 31.

1930: Thomas Larson 71, Olea Larson 68.

1940: Thomas Larsen 81, Lena Larsen 76.

Thomas Larson died November 28, 1954 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
