Funeral Held For
George Johnson

Funeral rites for a former Osage man, George C. Johnson, 67, of Mason City,Iowa, will be held today, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mason City. Burial will be there. Mr. Johnson died September 28, 1980, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel made the arrangements.

George Charles Johnson was born December 27, 1912, in Mason City, the son of James and Gertrude McCarthy Johnson. His marriage to Marlus Allen took place in Gordonsville, Minnesota, August 9, 1932. He was a butcher for 47 years in Mason City, Marshalltown and Osage, retiring in 1972. The past year he was manager of an apartment complex in Mason City.

Surviving are his wife, Marlus; three sons, Thomas of Chino, California, Edward of Rockford and George C. Junior of Montclair, California; four daughters: Mrs. Byron Hill (Georgiana) and Mrs. Robert Lauritson (Mary Ellen) of Mason City, Mrs. LeRoy Lamholt (Sharon) of Osage and Mrs. David Starbuck (Judith) of Rudd; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.

The family requests that memorials be given to the George C. Johnson memorial fund.
